Importing a Play Framework and Scala Project from GitHub

Learn to clone a Play/Scala project repository into IntelliJ IDEA.

IntelliJ IDEA makes it very easy to clone a project from GitHub. Please make sure that you have Git installed on your machine.

  • Open IntelliJ
  • Select Checkout from Version Control
  • Paste the repository URL, for example: https://github.com/LineDrop/play-scala-web-application.git
  • Click Clone
  • Click Yes to confirm
  • Click Ok to accept default import settings
  • Wait until the project is imported and the SBT has finished loading dependencies
